Are you tired of eating unpalatable and dietary foods during a slimming treatment? Do not worry, we’ll put the probe in right now! This could be the marketing slogan of the so-called KE (Ketogenic Enteral Nutrition) diet, which is one of the most extreme nutritional solutions ever created. Interestingly, this diet enjoys considerable popularity in the US, where it is used as a pre-wedding to prepare by future brides, for whom the rest has been said to have been made!
The KE Diet is a solution addressed to people who need to lose unnecessary fatty tissue in a rapid pace.
This concept assumes feeding with a probe inserted into the stomach of a protein and fat solution, with a calorific value not exceeding approximately 800 kcal per day. This type of mixture is intended to bring the body into a state of ketosis and to increase fat loss. The entire program lasts for a period of 10 days.
The loss of body weight after the treatment can of course be significant, which is associated on the one hand with a low supply of energy, on the other – with the elimination of carbohydrates and the introduction of the body into a state of ketosis. The results of the research also support the diet – such methods have been successfully used in clinical settings for extremely obese people. This does not mean, however, that these solutions are safe in any case or whether they can be used carelessly by unskilled people.
Feeding by the probe as part of a slimming diet seems to be at least controversial in and of itself. Of course, you can balance the theoretically administered conditioner so that it is rich in all necessary nutrients. In practice, however, it does not have to be so, which will end up with food shortages. Such practices can also contribute to the development of eating disorders. An obvious problem is the extremely low energy supply, which results in slowing down metabolism and loss of muscle tissue
